“The process of creating content consistently is what builds your thought leadership. It’s not a title you earn and then demonstrate — it’s a practice you build week after week, one piece of content at a time.”
— Kimberly Gayle
Episode Summary
You know you need to show up with content. But knowing and doing are two very different things — especially when you don’t have a team, a big budget, or endless hours in the day.
In Episode 67, Kimberly Gayle introduces Bold E’s Content System: the simple, sustainable framework she uses with every single client to help solopreneurs and small business personal brands create content with ease, show up consistently, and never go dark on their audience again. This isn’t just a content strategy. It’s a thought leadership development practice — and it starts with just one piece of long-form content per week.
What You’ll Learn in This Episode
- Why foundation comes first — and why content without a brand foundation is just noise
- The SCEPP Process — Script, Create, Edit, Publish, Promote — and what each step looks like across different formats
- How to choose your long-form content format — the three-box check that helps you decide what’s right for you and your ideal buyer
- Why long-form content is your discovery engine — SEO, GEO, and AI-powered search are changing how people find experts online
- How to amplify one piece of content — into email, social, and beyond without copying and pasting the same thing everywhere
- Why Bold E’s Content System builds your thought leadership — and how consistency compounds into authority over time
- Why you should always start weekly — and exactly when (and only when) to expand your cadence
Episode Highlights
Foundation Before Content
Before any content system can work, you need a brand foundation. Knowing your identity, your voice, your story, your core message, and what makes you uniquely powerful is what makes content resonate. Without it, you’re creating noise. With it, you’re creating connection.
Bold E’s Content System & The SCEPP Process
The heart of the system is one weekly piece of long-form content produced through the SCEPP process:
- S — Script: Start with a brain dump, build an outline, and develop your script (full or notes-based, depending on your style). AI can help you here — but your ideas, stories, and expertise are always the source.
- C — Create: Write it, record it, or film it. Because you scripted first, this step is so much easier.
- E — Edit: Polish your piece. Step away and come back with fresh eyes if writing. Edit audio or video as needed. Don’t skip this step.
- P — Publish: Publish to your platform — and always make sure your content lives on your website blog too. Your website is your home base.
- P — Promote: Use your final script as source material for your amplification process. One long-form piece becomes email content, social posts, carousels, stories, and more — all tailored to each platform, never copy-pasted.
How This System Builds Your Thought Leadership
Most people think thought leadership is something you achieve first and then start demonstrating. But it’s actually the opposite. Every time you script and create a piece of content, you’re developing your perspective, articulating your point of view, and going deeper into your expertise. Week after week, that practice compounds into a body of work that positions you as the go-to expert in your space.
Start Weekly. Always.
Always start with one piece of long-form content per week — no more. Build the process, learn what works, get consistent, get confident, and prove to yourself that you won’t go dark. Then — and only then — evaluate whether to expand your cadence. Going dark is the thing we are avoiding above everything else.
Weekly content also trains your audience to know what to expect from you — just like a favorite TV show that dropped every Thursday. That rhythm builds anticipation, connection, and trust.
This Week’s Challenge: Map Your SCEPP
- Choose your long-form content format. Pick the format that excites you, meets your ideal buyer where they are, and supports search discovery. Commit to it.
- Map out your SCEPP. Assign a day to each step — Script, Create, Edit, Publish, Promote. Build a rhythm that is realistic and sustainable. Start weekly.
- Make a commitment. Put your SCEPP days in your calendar and treat them like client appointments. Your content is your marketing. Your consistency is your credibility.
