Episode Summary
We’re already six weeks into 2026—so if you’re serious about finally being recognized for your expertise and everything you have to offer, it’s time to make BOLD moves.
In this episode, Kimberly Gayle shares the top three personal branding decisions you need to make in 2026 to go from stuck, uncertain, and invisible to clear, confident, and unstoppable.
These aren’t surface-level tactics. These are foundational decisions that will separate you from everyone else who’s still playing small.
Episode Highlights
DECISION #1: CREATE YOUR OWN MEDIA
Stop renting space on someone else’s platform and start OWNING your narrative, reach, and revenue.
Why long-form content matters in 2026:
- Substack has over 35 million active subscriptions with readers spending 68 minutes per week engaged
- Podcast listenership hit 504 million in 2024, with the average listener consuming 8 podcasts per week
- Long-form content generates 9X more leads than short-form and significantly boosts SEO and AEO (AI Engine Optimization)
People are craving DEPTH again. They want substance, transformation, and to understand WHO you are—not just what you do.
Kimberly’s Story: In 2013, Kimberly started ABVGirl, a blog about her journey to full-time entrepreneurship and love of craft beer. That blog became her media, gave her a voice, and opened doors she never imagined—including meeting her husband and launching Final Draft Taphouse.
In 2021, she started her podcast (Social Brews Business, which evolved into Brave & Bold in 2023). Both times, starting with long-form content allowed her to hone her voice, define her message, and position herself as an authority.
The Key: Create from a place of true care, joy, and passion. Share your insights, perspective, and expertise in a way that helps people achieve quick wins while showing your credibility.
Your Action: Pick ONE media format (podcast, Substack, YouTube, blog, long-form LinkedIn) and commit to it.
DECISION #2: FEEL DEEPLY & FOCUS ON YOUR ONE PERSON
Stop trying to be everything to everyone. Start feeling DEEPLY about serving your ONE person.
Why this matters: Brands are built on emotional connection, not features. People don’t buy your expertise—they buy how you make them FEEL.
We’re more “connected” than ever, yet deeply disconnected from ourselves and each other. The brands that will change the world are built on deep care, love, and true emotional connection.
The liberation of focusing on ONE person: When you focus on ONE specific person (Kimberly calls hers “Sophia”), everything changes:
- Your messaging gets sharper
- Your marketing becomes easier
- You know exactly where to show up and what to say
- You stop wasting time trying to appeal to people who aren’t your people
Kimberly’s Experience: “Focusing on one person is LIBERATING. There’s a ‘less is more’ feeling when you’re aligned with your heart and soul and who you truly want to help. You stop second-guessing. You stop people-pleasing. You get to serve deeply.”
Your Action: Define the ONE feeling you want to evoke and WHO your one person is. Get clear on both, then create and operate from that place of deep care.
DECISION #3: BUILD A BRAND WORLD COMMUNITY
We all crave belonging. If YOU need it, your people need it too.
Why community is a critical growth strategy in 2026:
- 66% of brands use community as a key growth strategy
- Customer communities deliver an average ROI of 2,800%
- Community-led brands see 5X higher customer lifetime value
- 74% of consumers are more likely to buy from brands with strong communities
But it’s not just good for business—it’s good for YOUR SOUL.
Kimberly’s Community Stories:
ABVGirl (2013): When Kimberly moved to the Pacific Northwest knowing no one, ABVGirl became her way to build community. It gave her something bigger to connect about and opened doors to friendships, partnerships, and opportunities.
Final Draft Taphouse – Thursday Night Lives: During the pandemic, their “Beer Excellent to Each Other” community and Thursday Night Lives literally saved their business. They pivoted to weekly Instagram and Facebook Lives where people grabbed beers and connected online. It saved their sanity, their customer relationships, and their revenue—while setting them apart from everyone else.
The Power: When you build a Brand World Community, you create connection that transcends transactions and becomes transformation. When times get hard, that community shows up for you just like you showed up for them.
Your Action: Decide what Brand World Community you’re going to build. What’s the rallying cry? What space will you create? How will you lead?
The Bold Truth
These three decisions work TOGETHER:
- Your media gives you a platform to share your message
- Focusing on your one person ensures your message resonates deeply
- Your Brand World Community transforms audience into movement
But you can’t do any of this effectively without CLARITY on your brand foundation.
That’s why the first step is the BrandFindHer Intensive—where you uncover what makes you uniquely powerful, build your brand foundation, and get CERTAIN about your purpose, vision, mission, values, message, story, and ideal customer.
Featured Quote
“You can’t create compelling media if you don’t know your core message. You can’t focus on your one person if you haven’t defined who that person is. You can’t build a Brand World Community if you don’t know what world you’re building or what you stand for.” — Kimberly Gayle
This Week’s Challenge: The 2026 Bold Decisions Challenge
Take a mini-action on each of these three decisions:
1. CREATE YOUR OWN MEDIA: Pick ONE long-form media format and write your commitment: “In 2026, I will create [media type] to share my message and position myself as the authority.”
2. FEEL DEEPLY & FOCUS ON YOUR ONE PERSON: Define the ONE feeling you want to evoke. Then describe your ONE person in 3-5 sentences.
3. BUILD A BRAND WORLD COMMUNITY: Brainstorm what your Brand World Community could look like. What would you call it? What’s the rallying cry? Write down at least 3 ideas.
SHARE PUBLICLY: Post your commitment on Instagram, LinkedIn, or Facebook. Tag @boldemergencebranding and share: “In 2026, I’m creating [media], focusing on [one person/feeling], and building [community].”
This Week’s Mantra
“I am building a bold, unstoppable, and recognizable personal brand by creating my own media, serving my one person deeply, and building the community that changes lives—starting with mine.”
